3 zendala dares

Every week Erin, the Bright Owl, post a new mandala template on her blog. Here are three I've done recently.

Number 30
Tangles: Deelish, Knightspeak, Paisley Boa (with leaves), Tipple

Number 45
Tangles: C-Scape, Cubine, Flux, Fohbraid, Jalousie, Pearlz, Purslane, Ragz
spirals, and things that just felt right at the time.

Number 16 (x2)
Tangles: Knightsbridge Aura, Not-a-Knot, Paisley Boa, Pearlz, Rounding and more

  1. Even though Zendalas drive me nuts (to do them), I have to admit these are all absolutely gorgeous! I love how you list tangles by "what felt right" and "sort of". Hahahaha. I am going to see if I can find "firecracker". That's a new one for me. And I will go and see Erin's template just for fun. I have taught about 100 people how to do Zentangles now...and I always "mention" Zendalas and I tell them to go to your blog to see them! Have you seen the tangle "Eureka" yet? On Sandy's blog I think. She and I have been blogging about whether or not it is just a variation of Dansk, Sand Swirls, and Verve. But she thinks it's different enough to have it's own name.

    1. Hi Ginny,
Well I really blew it this time!!! I just looked at the red one above and realized (how did THAT happen?!?) that all the tangles I listed were completely wrong!!! I've corrected it. There's no Firecracker there, but you CAN see Firecracker - a lovely border design - in the book '.Zentangle 7 and here: http://enthusiasticartist.blogspot.ca/2012/11/aedm-13-koryl.html
Possibly the tangle you like is Jalousie, in a single row.

  2. I am not surprised that there are no comments. Everyone is speechless. What amazing skill and talent and patience you have, Margaret. I am curious as to how many hours it takes to make a piece of work like any one of these. It seems I spend a lot of time coming up with something a lot less impressive that this. Maybe AFTER I become a CZT? Beautiful work, love your blog!

    1. Thank you Anna! Only once, many years ago, have I carefully kept track of the time I spent on a piece of art. The best I can do for most of thes round zentangle pieces is "a few hours". :P

  3. Wow, Margaret, what creativity! My favorite is number 30. I just taught Knightspeak last night when I introduced Knightsbridge and folks are eager to try it. I'll have to show them your version here and really blow their minds :). Just when they thought they had it along comes Margaret to keep them learning. I particularly love the off-centered "paisley boa leaves" - gives the piece so much interest! Thanks for all you do!
