Kaleidoscope

I love the colors in this zendala, but now that it's finished I don't think I like all the black lines dividing the sections. On the other hand, it makes it look a little like a stained glass window. What do you think?
Tangles: Cubine, Shattuck, elements of Drupe

  1. It's super. I do like the black as it is so minimal anyway.

  2. Actually seems like the black supports the color making it pop.

  3. I think this is gorgeous! I wouldn't change anything about it. I also think that the black lines are very subtle and actually support the color adding to the dimension. Truly an inspiration!

  8. I love it just the way it is. I think the black (and white) lines give it some more contrast, makes the colors pop!

  9. I don't think you would have achieved the same feel of dimension without the black lines (but what do i know?). I think this zendala is absolutely beautiful! The colours (and shading) are amazing!

  10. I am in love with this! Your work is so beautiful! I actually found it hard to determine what the black lines were that you referred to. I think it's amazing!

  11. I love the way it looks. The black is a great accent. I have a question, did you do this free hand? Or is it a zendala tile?

    1. Hi Grace, this was done on a blank zendala tile using Erin Olsen's zendala template #66. I rounded some of the corners a little more than they are on the template.

  12. As a quilter, I've found little bits of darks really make colors pop. I'd like to try Zentangle, but it seems few people in this area even know what it is. I love your blog and would take a class from you in a minute, but I'm in Michigan.

  13. I think it is the white lines that are much more dominant. Very nice

    1. Hi Caren, in this particular piece I used acrylic washes in red, yellow, and blue. Sometimes I use water-soluable colored pencil. Usually I use colored ink to tangle, but not here.
