Leafy goodness

It's autumn where I live, and also where Laura the Diva CZT lives. Same city in fact. Different sides of the river. The leaves are starting to change color and fall off the trees. Her challenge this week is to tangle leaves in one way or another. I suppose that could mean actual leaves but I went in other directions.

I was working on another project and used some of this lovely green and copper paper I was given. In the leftover pieces I saw what could be a leaf in the copper 'flings' so I cut around the edges, glued the pieces to a Renaissance tile, and tangled.
Tangles: Finery, Koril, Pearlz, Tipple
Chris Titus (a CZT in Wyoming USA) had sent me an eco-dyed tile. It's almost difficult to draw on these because they are so beautiful all by themselves. But it seemed a perfect thing to use for a leaf theme.  I had some leaf skeletons I'd bought quite a while ago for something that I never got around to, so I glued one of those to the tile. And with the falling leaves come the first flakes of snow.
Tangles: Black Pearlz, Finery, Leaflet, Pearlz, Sampson, Tipple and stripes
This is not tangling, but it is a pen-and-ink drawing of leaves. I did it years ago for a book illustration; back then I did a lot of cross-hatching. It's a favorite of mine, and I love gingko leaves!

  1. These are super gorgeous Margaret! And I have to say, I absolutely love your pen and ink leaf drawing! I make my own greeting cards, using rubber stamps, and this drawing needs to be made into a background stamp! Seriously! It reminds me very much of stamps made by Darkroom Door!

  2. Oh wow, love your work Margaret. Your travelling tangle with the leaf skeleton is so beautiful. The leaf skeleton has inspired me and I'm working on a tile based on it at the moment.
Your drawing of leaves is amazing too.

  7. The pen-and-ink- drawing is just amazing, I love it, but also your challenge-tiles are beautiful, always different from the others with special accents, the second one is my absolute favorite.

  8. Your work is amazing as always Margaret! I love the eco-dyed tiles and I agree that they are almost too beautiful to tangle on. But yours is beautiful. The pen and ink drawing is stunning and your first tile with the copper accents are absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing!
