I have no idea why but overlapping images have always fascinated me. I decided to add this template to one of Zentangle's pre-strung zendala tiles and see if I could make both patterns visible. All in all, not great, but not bad. It really helps to keep in mind: light, dark, and mid-tone.

Then I went a little spiral crazy. I used a number of gray inks on this one and am very pleased with it.
Tangles: Black Pearlz and... not much else. Except stripes. I've always loved stripes. |
Margaret, I love how you took the same template and used it in different situations with different patterns. It was inspiring, especially for me when I get bogged down thinking I can only do "certain patterns" in "certain" ways! It was nice to see "your ideas" on various uses of the template!! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you Felicia. It's interesting how different the results can be with the same 'string'.
DeleteThese are def a knock outa the park.
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous Margaret! But then, again, everything you do is fabulous!!!
ReplyDeleteI really liked your overlapping patterns Zendala. What a neat idea.
ReplyDeleteI never really knew you could do this much with zendoodle/tangles.
ReplyDeleteI'm a stickler for black and white, and I love designs. Thanks for giving me both of those things!
Thanks Tsutomu. I've always loved pattern and detail. If there's a Certified Zentangle Teacher near you, I encourage you to take a class.
DeleteI love to see what inspires people. I will have to take a look at some "ink." The last wormy, BLT Joos one is really pleasing to my eye.
ReplyDeleteI love what you created with the spirals and the idea of putting the spiral template over the pre-strung tile is great! Learning from you all the time, Margaret! Thank you!!!
