In my post for the
Diva's challenge this week I mentioned that many of the photos of Calgary, High River, and elsewhere in Alberta looked more like mud than water. I did a follow-up piece in browns and tried to think of flowy, oozy tangles to use. I used the same pre-strung zendala tile that I used for the first (watery) one, and both brown and sepia ink.

Tangles: Black Pearlz, Bunzo, Crescent Moon, C-Scape, Diva Dance, Kandysnake variation, Künstler, Lamar, Magma, Paisley Boa, Verve |
This is very striking!
ReplyDeleteIn brown it looks very dramatic.
ReplyDeleteGreat work!
It is flowy and oozy...but also quite beautiful. Your color transitions add dimension and interest.
ReplyDeleteAlso absolutely beautifull! I love this muted colors!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! This tile just oooozes.
ReplyDeleteNever thought I'd find "mud" to be pretty, but this sure is. Love the color and the shading.
ReplyDeleteAnd this one with the brown groundy color is also beautiful.
ReplyDeletethat color is so true to what flood waters leave behind
ReplyDeleteWonderful zendala! You have made water flowing. Beautiful tangles.
ReplyDeleteYou have captured the oozing mud perfectly. A beautifully done piece!
ReplyDeleteWow. Just WOW.
ReplyDeleteI love the patterns and the sepia and brown colouring. Lovely done! I have to admit though that I like the watery one better because it's giving some positiveness in all this devastation.
Beautiful! The browns blend so well with the design and look striking. I love how the patterns swirl out from the centre.
