Some time ago Laura Harms, Diva of the
Weekly Zentangle Challenge, coined the term
monotangle for a zentangle work that uses only a single tangle. It's a great opportunity to challenge your brain and think of variations of a pattern.
Recently tanglepatterns.com posted string suggestion number 91. I thought it was rather interesting and tried it. And tried it again. And again... five times! I discovered that this is another take on the "mono" idea: use the same string several times and see all the different things you can do with it!
Sometimes I used the dots and border to begin; sometimes I filled the entire tile with the string. Can you figure out which is which?
Here are my (first) five tiles using tanglepatterns string #91:
|
Tangle: Hollibaugh |
|
Tangles: Aquafleur, Bunzo, Crossview variation |
|
Tangles: Black Pearlz, Drupe, Fohbraid, Tipple |
|
Tangles in black: Finery, Knightsbridge, polka dots Tangles in gray: Munchin, Paizel, Printemps, Tipple, Tripoli |
|
Tangle: Aquafleur |
You had a busy day! So productive and Gorgeeeeoouus!
ReplyDeleteOh so beautiful Margaret :) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletefabulous, as always. I so enjoy seeing your beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteMarvellous!!
ReplyDeleteSoooo beautiful, every single one. I looked at your flowy Hollibaugh a long time to find the first ribbon. I had to give up. Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteAnn, I looked too and I don't think there IS a "first ribbon" ! I guess because of the string I did parts of ribbons at a time instead of complete ribbons. A good thing to remember for another time!
DeleteAs always. your work is awesome Margaret!
ReplyDeleteMargaret! You have such fun ideas. Two of my students are going to meet you during the April retreat in Florida. I'm so envious of their opportunity to meet you in person.... Thanks for all your creativity!!!
ReplyDeleteYep, I think you tricked us with that 1st ribbon LOL! These are AMAZING!!!!! Gosh, your head must be bubbling with ideas 24/7, don't you want to share some of that brain matter :)) And you are, right here, so thank you for being such an inspiration. I adore all of them, that Aquafleur is awesome!
