DIAMOND PANES tangle instructions

I bought a book of bargello needlework patterns for cheap from the library's clear-out bin. Bargello seems to be a bit like needlepoint except the stitches are longer and go up and down on the canvas instead of diagonally. There were some good ideas in there. One, called Diamond Panes, was easily adaptable to drawing although step two is a little tricky. Here's how it goes:

Here are a couple of tiles using Diamond Panes.
In the first one the tangle ends up on its side.

Diamond Panes, Betweed, Florz, Flux, Umble

Diamond Panes, Cubine, Flux, Tipple, Xyp

  7. I love how (in the first tile) the Diamond Panes in the background create a sort of surface for the other tangles to hover over. it's all floating forward. Beautiful.

  9. Just did this tangle on my challenge tile. I was surprised at how meditative the little lines were to do. That was fun!

  11. Wow! Can't wait to try this one! I'm hopelessly addicted to Zentangles. I like to make birthday cards, with the birthday person's name spelled out, and surrounded by tangles. Then I fill in the inside of the letters, which I hand-draw, with red tangles.
