Zentangle weekly challenge number nine is to use a new tangle designed by Laura Harms, the Diva who issues the weekly challenges! :-) ARTOO is the name of the tangle, and also Laura's blog name for her younger son who was in the hospital for a spell recently.
In the first tile I used a "Brush" pen I've had for a while to do the 'artoos'. I discovered that it's running out of ink, but I like the heavy lines it provided when I pressed a little harder and touched 'em up with a regular pen. (Think I'll get a new one and see what I can do with it.) The second tile is more delicate. Interestingly, both have an underlying spiral form.
I have not tried a brush pen, even though I have many! nice contrast. I love them both, for their very "artooishness". Maria
ReplyDeleteWhispering fun and frolic
ReplyDeleteWow! I love both of these - great contrast - the way you use positive and negative space is so effective! Definitely a favorite!!!
ReplyDeletefabulous!
ReplyDeleteLove them both! Love the black orbs on the second on to the right of Artoo. They really set it off!
ReplyDeleteboth tiles are incredible! Can't decide which one I love more. Love the little curlicue on the tops on the one, and the bubbles in the artoo in the second tile.
ReplyDeleteThese tiles are wonderful. I certainly couldn't choose between them - guess you'll have to send 'em both to me! *wink* Beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteThese are both beautiful, Margaret! I think the spirals and orbs are a perfect match for the Artoo tangle... very organic shapes - it's got that lovely natural ratio of leaves and shells happening - particularly in the second ZT. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous – both, every tile in its own way… The one I love most??? The first and the second ;-) .
ReplyDeleteUsing the brush-pen is a pretty good idea. Filling in some spaces of ARTOO with BUBBLES is very nice too!
both are superbe!!!
ReplyDeleteespecially love the shading and lens effect on your 2nd tile!
you have a great style...
Both of these are fabulous! Love them!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done!
ReplyDeleteStunning ideas in both tiles, love the movement!
ReplyDeleteBoth are just wonderful. I love the circle shapes in the second piece.
ReplyDeleteThey are both beautiful. That second one has great movement, balance and variety of interest. Great job on these.
ReplyDeleteI love them both! I really am drawn to the original and inverse aspects of the artoo in the second one. Very nicely done.
