Drawing Day 2011
I'm great at brainstorming ideas. Not so great on proceeding on them. This is a reminder to myself that I also have to get up and DO! It's also a sample for Monday's Tanglicious class (special projects for advanced students) where we'll be doing illuminated letters or initials or short words.
I guess this is also my creative endeavor for today during the 30 Days of Creativitiy. In my life it will probably end up being more like 10/30 Days of Creativitiy! :P

It's tangipendous.
ReplyDeleteThis is really wonderful@
ReplyDeleteNeat!! Is that in sepia and black or brown and black?
ReplyDeleteBoth Micron 01's, black and brown. Shading done with Prismacolor's Verithin pencils (quite hard lead).
ReplyDeleteExquisite!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteI love the way your tangles continue through the letters into the background, tying the patterns together, but maintaining their individuality. The ribbony pieces that radiate from the center of the "o" anchor it, yet let it explode through the background. Love it!!
ReplyDeleteI saw this many years ago and was attracted to the tangle that emerges from the top of the "o". Does it have a name? I figured out my own way to draw it but was wondering if you have a step-by-step instruction of it. It might be easier than how I do it. your work is lovely.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne. I think you're referring to Miranda, a tangle from Sandy Steen Bartholomew. It's in her book "Totally Tangled". Have fun!
DeleteThank you so much Margaret. I'll check it out.
