I've been here for a year!

October 17 is the first anniversary of my blogdom!

Bloggitude? Bloggeration? Blogiciousness? ... well, not boredom. I follow. I have followers. I post and comment and reply. I scan, upload, label, proofread and italicize. It's a whole world I barely knew existed 13 months ago. I launched this adventure following a day-long Zentangle workshop planned by myself and Laura Harms, known to many of us as the Diva. In the past year this blog has had more than 117,000 visits!!!

It's been quite a delight! I so enjoy and appreciate everyone's comments and compliments. It's inspiring and fun to see what other people are up to via their blogs. It's gratifying to have been inspiring and helpful in return. What a wonderful, supportive bunch you are!

Tangles: Bales, Barnacle, Caviar, Coaster, Crescent Moon, D'Uni,
Florz, Gingham, Keeko, Lotus Pods, 'Nzeppel, Paradox, Rain, Shattuck, Unyun

I like the Hobbit custom of giving presents on your own birthday. But I also like getting things. :-) So, I'm going to have a DRAW (pun intended) and give away some of my art. Nothing will be framed - too tricky to mail glass. I will give away 12 pieces, one for each month in blogland, everything you see on today's post.

Tangles: Cadent, Chartz, Flux, Hibred, Sez, Shattuck (of sorts), Tipple

What's the catch you ask? Here's what I want in return: I would love to have a collection of zentangle tiles by other people - real, actual, original art, zentangle tiles. If you want to participate, here's what you can do:
  • Send me one Zentangle tile.  A classic zentangle: black ink only on a 9 cm (3.5 inch) square, white or off-white paper tile with pencil shading. No letters or words or objects. Just tangles.
  • On the back write your name, mailing address and e-mail address. If you have a preference for any of the artwork, write that on the back too. If I DRAW your name I'll do my best to send you what you like, first DRAWn, first gifted.
  • Only one entry per person.
  • The deadline for receipt of your tile is November 18, 2011.

  3. What a great idea for your bog anniversary. I too gave away stuff on my own birthday on my blog (not my blog birthday, that will still be coming up soon so maybe another giveaway). Your work is stunning and I would love to have any one of these pieces. I will try to get one made and sent off to you to participate in the drawing.

  18. Thanks so much for such a wonderful year! You have accomplished soo much! I love your site, and like so many others, come here often for inspiration! (I love that you list the tangles that you used on each of your tiles!) My work is not up to sharing so I won't be sending anything, but I will be envious of the winner of the Dragon, and the windswept house! Thanks for all the inspiration!
    Aloha, Andrea

  20. Congratulations on your anniversary! Your work has been an inspiration to me. I especially appreciated your tutorial on paradox, which just happens to be one of my favorite tangles. Your blog on improving some of your older tiles was also eye-opening. And I loved seeing the development of your ten tangled houses.

Thanks so much for your generosity of spirit in sharing your passion and talent.

I will definitely be sending a tile!

  22. Awww, maaan. Of all times to have been semi out of touch in ZT. I would love to participate in this, but I don't think I have enough time to finish my existing obligations, do a tile, and have it get there by the date. :(
