It made sense to position the tile on the diagonal, and the tangle Facets seemed the perfect one to use! Although I draw it differently than those instructions, the result is the same. I did it in varying sizes, the largest one last. Wish I'd thought of those broken line highlights (sparkles) earlier!
Tangles: Beadlines, Black Pearlz, Facets |
Then I tried drawing the four diamonds in pencil and did a random string throughout. It seemed to work to leave the diamonds mainly empty, although I added some unusual shading.
Tangles: Flux and Tipple, plus some dots, lines and stripes. |
Wow, these are great! The first one reminds me of a quilt and I love the unique shading on the second piece:) I always learn new things looking at your work - thanks!
ReplyDeleteI knew they would be fabulous...and they are!
ReplyDeleteTwo very different and creative views of this challenge! I like the second one with the creative shading and simple line structure but then a lovely background created - great job!
ReplyDeleteThese are both wonderful! Facets is perfect for this challenge, and I love different sizes, and the combination of softening them with pearls. I love the second one though because the string and the way you've shaded and tangled the diamonds and background is stunning. Very graphic, artistic - Cool!
ReplyDeleteMargaret, you have the magic touch with your shading, those diamonds are sparkling.
ReplyDeleteYour Zentangles always amaze me. I enjoy your site. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful and so unique! I always love to see what you come up with.
ReplyDeleteYou have created truly beautiful tiles.
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful tiles...I love what you did!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, as always, Margaret!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these 2 great pieces of eye candy!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteI must admit that I wasn't too enthused about the four diamonds challenge, but I had missed the previous one (Sanibelle, a lovely tangle!)
Just shows to go ya... persevere. :-)
These are wonderful, I especially like your diamond shading on #2. Very effective and I love your process.
ReplyDeleteReally neat idea to use facets. I like the different sizes but the pearls surrounding to hold it together. The second one is so different and great because it is off-kilter and each area behind the main diamonds interesting on its own.
ReplyDeleteI think they both turned out great! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, enthused or not, the tiles are a beautiful take on my challenge. I wondered if anyone would tilt the tile diagonally? The tangles you chose are strong and bold with the straight lines and softened by the swirls and circles. the first one absolutely pops! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful.... both of them.
