I've been wanting to do this for quite some time.
If you're unfamiliar with the somewhat viral "all the things" meme check out this post on the Hyperbole and a Half blog. Why it became so all 'round popular, I'm not sure, but it is. The original version is "Clean all the things" but people have done a lot with this simple phrase and drawing. By the way, a meme, according to dictionary.com, is "a cultural item that is transmitted by repetition in a manner analogous to the biological transmission of genes".
And while you're at it, if you're a grammar and spelling nerd like yours truly you might like this post about Alot.
Love it! ROTFLMAO!
ReplyDeleteI love your drawing.
ReplyDeletethanks for mentioning the Alot post. That was fun to read.
This is by far one of the weirdest blogs I've ever read.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I have to admit I laughed over several of the posts as she seems to hit the nail on the head quite often.
So this blog is a "meme"? A cultural thing? Like people who play "Angry Birds" on their mobile devices and are proud of it?
Hahahaha. I really could get interested in this blog if she did use the "f" word quite so often! I don't think I'm a prude about things like that but I really do find that word so offensive and totally unnecessary. She is funny without it. I admit I bookmarked this blog to go and have a look again. And if Zentangle has come to Ally then it apparently has hit the "mainstream" right? Or at least the "undercurrent". I did like the bit about "alot". That is funny.
Ginny, I have no idea if the blog writer is aware of Zentangle or not. I actually did the tangling on the above picture. The image and the phrase "xxx all the things!" is a meme, not the whole blog. And I totally agree with you about the 'f' word: completely unnecessary.
DeleteOh my heavens! What a wonderful blog! I can't believe it ended in 2011 - have to look on Facebook...
ReplyDeleteGuess you can't sell your brilliant tangle as a poster because of copyright...wish you could - I'd buy one straight away - I like it ALOT!
