It looked like an excellent string for my new tangle Yoga. It's almost a monotangle.
Tangles: Beadlines, Pearlz, Yoga |
I've been attempting the use of white ink on black tiles, usually not very pleased with the results. This string reminded me of a tangle I saw recently called Star Map, from Suzanne McNeill and I thought it would be more interesting in white on black. I think I'm improving!
Tangles: Daggerly, Gneiss, Hurakán, Munchin, Star Map |
When I looked at the next stringed tile, it made me think of all the zigzag tangles that I like so much.
Tangles: Black Pearlz, Chartz, Hibred with Rounding, Knase, Tipple, Triral, Zedbra, Zewm |
All three are lovely! I especially like the one with the leaves.
ReplyDeleteAll three look very cool!
ReplyDeleteThis are wonderful Margaret, I can hardly wait to try Yoga. Your white on black choice is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteTry painting a white tile with black gesso. I think you will like the results. I used a white Uniball pen for the tangle
ReplyDeleteI do have some black gesso so I may well try that. Thanks! I also have some black tiles from Zentangle and that's what I've been using thus far.
DeleteI LOVE them all. And what a great ne tangle. Thank you!!!!
ReplyDeleteAs always, you are an amazing artist! You see line and depth and beauty so well! I do love the second the best! It pulls me in to stay a while!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful these all look. I find it fascinating that one string can look so different when used with different tangles.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing isn't it Deb. I'm sure the possibilities are endless.
DeleteLove all three, but the 1st one is my favorite! Looking forward to trying your pattern, Yoga. The way you did it has so much dimension. In the third one, I see fish. I think it's the black perlz that right away looked like eyeballs to me..LOL. Great work with this string and challenge!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue. I sort of saw fish too, which is why I oriented it the way I did. It would look really fishy horizontal!
DeleteThese are wonderful. You have created three beautiful tiles ( well four actually). I enjoy seeing your work Margaret. You are an outstanding artist. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI like the different variations in your tile with Yoga. Really shows how different results do not only occur from different tangles in a string but the variety of ways to do the tangles themselves. I think I like the effect of the second one. I have not done a lot of things on black tiles either, mostly because I do not like the way the white gel pens work. I have used other gel pens and do not have as much trouble with them.
ReplyDeleteI'm discovering that what Maria says about the Sakura white pens is absolutely true: you need to BARELY touch the paper and the ink flows nicely. Still workin' on it. :)
DeleteOh man - these are all stunning! Loved the first one because as a nearly monotangle, you've made it so interesting with embellishments, and just a subtle addition of a couple of other tangles.... then I saw the second. Ok, now you've inspired me to try the white on black as soon as I can - this night sky effect is wonderful....
ReplyDeleteThen the third one... Ohhhh, I love zig zags too! What a great collection!
Very nice. Love all three. I also love the way you list the tangles you use.
ReplyDeleteThanks! A lot of people have said they appreciate it so I'll try to continue.
DeleteLovely tangles
ReplyDeleteReally, really like your "star tangled" tile! Nice job on all of them.
ReplyDeleteSo nice...
