I love the colors in this zendala, but now that it's finished I don't think I like all the black lines dividing the sections. On the other hand, it makes it look a little like a stained glass window. What do you think?
I think this is gorgeous! I wouldn't change anything about it. I also think that the black lines are very subtle and actually support the color adding to the dimension. Truly an inspiration! Becky
I don't think you would have achieved the same feel of dimension without the black lines (but what do i know?). I think this zendala is absolutely beautiful! The colours (and shading) are amazing!

Hi Grace, this was done on a blank zendala tile using Erin Olsen's zendala template #66. I rounded some of the corners a little more than they are on the template.
As a quilter, I've found little bits of darks really make colors pop. I'd like to try Zentangle, but it seems few people in this area even know what it is. I love your blog and would take a class from you in a minute, but I'm in Michigan.
Hi Caren, in this particular piece I used acrylic washes in red, yellow, and blue. Sometimes I use water-soluable colored pencil. Usually I use colored ink to tangle, but not here.
It's super. I do like the black as it is so minimal anyway.
