'Mono' string project

Some time ago Laura Harms, Diva of the Weekly Zentangle Challenge, coined the term monotangle for a zentangle work that uses only a single tangle. It's a great opportunity to challenge your brain and think of variations of a pattern.

Recently tanglepatterns.com posted string suggestion number 91. I thought it was rather interesting and tried it. And tried it again. And again... five times! I discovered that this is another take on the "mono" idea: use the same string several times and see all the different things you can do with it!

Sometimes I used the dots and border to begin; sometimes I filled the entire tile with the string. Can you figure out which is which?

Here are my (first) five tiles using tanglepatterns string #91:
Tangle: Hollibaugh
Tangles: Aquafleur, Bunzo, Crossview variation
Tangles: Black Pearlz, Drupe, Fohbraid, Tipple
Tangles in black: Finery, Knightsbridge, polka dots
Tangles in gray: Munchin, Paizel, Printemps, Tipple, Tripoli
Tangle: Aquafleur

    1. Ann, I looked too and I don't think there IS a "first ribbon" ! I guess because of the string I did parts of ribbons at a time instead of complete ribbons. A good thing to remember for another time!
