I've been (*ahem*) wasting too much time recently playing a game on my phone. BUT... it inspired this tangle pattern! Ha! Vindicated!
Jemz is a square grid tangle and begins much like Florz, but this time make larger black squares rather than fairly small ones. You want to end up with a white octagon in each (former) square.

BTW: It's getting harder and harder to keep track of tangles and names. If this pattern has been presented elsewhere, or if the name has been used earlier, please let me know!
Just saw this original version. Great! Linda, of TanglePatterns.com has her version as the sample in her Tangle Guide 2013, but I didn't see the Gem shapes. Saw the "diamonds" though. So it's obvious there is much potential for variations depending on what section one accents. Beautiful Tangle. Tracy
ReplyDeleteIt's a very nice 'filler' pattern, and not too confusing, though it is geometric. I don't remember seeing it anywhere before, but that doesn't mean anything! I could imagine using it in a larger format and putting different shapes or objects at the focal points.
