Tangles: Cubine, Leaflet, Purdy, Tipple |
Trying to encourage her to join us out here, we walked, and on one walk we visited Purdys Chocolatier. (You'll have to ask them why there's no apostrophe.) Among all the fabulous chocolate products I noticed this pattern:
It makes me think of scattered leaves and struck me as a very simple tangle.
Tangles: Crescent Moon, Printemps, Purdy with a leaky pen border and 'shades of gray' |
Tangles: Beadlines, Droplets, Huracán, Knightspeak, Unyun, Zonked |
If this pattern has been presented before, or if the name has already been used, please let me know.
Congrats on your first Grandchild. Your life will never be the same. All that love.
ReplyDeleteHi Margaret, many congrats on your first granddaughter! Time marches on ... :-)
ReplyDeleteRegarding the tangle, I think this is CZT Lori Manoogian's Ansu? http://tanglepatterns.com/2014/03/how-to-draw-ansu.html
but you have shown some interesting ways to use it. Cheers and best.
Hi Linda. Someone else pointed me to Ansu and I had a look. Ansu has one rounded and, a dot in the middle, and each element is connected to the ones before. Purdy, on the other hand, has two pointed ends and is not connected to the other elements. Although, I admit, they are quite similar!
DeleteLove it Margaret!! Does it have step outs?
ReplyDeleteHi Estelle. I didn’t bother with a step-out because it’s so simple I decided the description would be enough. Just the one five (or six) line shape repeated, scattered.
DeleteFirst of all, congratulations! Your precious granddaughter fits your description to a "T".
ReplyDeleteI like the shape of this tangle and will give it a go. Thanks!
This is a great tangle Margaret. At first look I thought it was a bit too simple, I couldn't imagine using it much. But then I started to play with it, realised the scope for variation and now I can see its potential. Thank you for sharing Purdy with us!
ReplyDeleteI often find that with tangles that look ‘too’ simple. Some classics that come to mind are Tipple and Knightsbridge.
DeleteLove this design. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove, Love when there's a great story to go with a tangle. Congratulations on such a memorable occasion! I can see your smile from here!

ReplyDeleteI have the song stuck in my head, your so pretty, O’so pretty, your so pretty and witty and gaaay... but now I’m singing it with Purdy, instead of pretty! love your work. And congrats on the wee small grandbabe of yours!
