"Anything is possible, one stroke at a time."

Zentangle seems to generate metaphors. Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, founders of Zentangle, chose one to use as sort of a motto. At the end of our all-day workshop, we gave everyone a page with this metaphor outlined in pencil, so they would have a larger zentangle project to do at home. I did the design of the letters, and Laura did a lot of tracing! We each did one to show the participants. This is mine.

  2. What a cool idea to give the students this kind of take home project. What a treat for them and an inspiration to keep on tangling. Beautiful.

  3. Nice blog Margaret! And this is a very appropriate motto too. I'm wondering if you are full for your class at the refinery tonight? I thought to see if Phyllis would be interested and the two of us might come? I'm hoping this is an okay way to contact you ... might want to edit the post though :)

  4. How great this is! I'm going to send your link to a friend in Saskatoon. Beautiful work! I'm new to zentangle. I'm familiar with working with tiles and strings based on what I've read and seen on youtube. Are the letters like strings that you are doing tangles around?

  5. I drew the letters in pencil, then ended up outlining them in pen. I'd like to try something where they aren't outlined in pen an the edges are just where the tangle stops. Ah me... another project for the list!
See if there's a Certified Zentangle Teacher near you, Karen Lynn, and take a class!
