I noted this tangle when Diva Laura first showed it on her blog, but I thought, "Too tricky. I'll try it later." This Monday, it was later and Sankegg is the Zentangle challenge this week.
This is a tangle that requires greater concentration! I could
not get the points to come in and meet at nice angles near the center. You can see my first attempt to draw this tangle in the upper left of the first tile. I attempted to fix it with some black sections. :) I did a little better in the lower right.

Tangles: Chartz, Knase, Sankegg, Tipple, Wunderwall |
Here's my second tile, with two more versions of Sankegg. I discovered that even if the angles are rather wonky and it looks rather bad at the outset, the effect is nonetheless there at the end. Pretty cool.

Tangles: Beadlines, Black Pearlz, Paradox, Sankegg, Tripoli and stripes |
You made something beautiful with this Sankegg. Both are great.
ReplyDeleteGreat Sankegg and variations in both, but I'm loving Wunderwall in the first, and in the second - the wonderful black pearls that balance sankegg and terrific balance of dark and light areas. Both have so much to look at (and learn from...)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Sankegging! Your variations are so creative - you're great at coming up with new tangleations. Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteOh my! You are so talented.
ReplyDeleteNice job. I agree that can get too caught up in getting the angles as is not that important. Found size more of an issue, particularly if wanted to put something in the triangles between.
ReplyDeleteWow! Sankegging at its best! I love how crisp and clean your tiles always appear and just how dimensional! You have such an eye for design and beauty!
ReplyDeleteLove it. The sankegg in pic one is really very cool done and remindis me on military planes in a flight formation. lol
ReplyDeleteI love the variations in the bottom right of the first tile and top right of the second! Both tiles look great, and wonderfully shaded... I have much to learn.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done. I love how this tangle changes as the negative space is modified. Great tangelations, love it!
ReplyDeleteGosh Margaret, you did it! You are so clever!!!
ReplyDeleteSimply amazing! I guess there is a lesson here; don't quit and it will work out. These are both beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteBoy you are so right about this tangle...a tough one. Did you see Zach's version on Desiged to Create? With the snake?
ReplyDeleteIf not check it out. You can get to him through me. Http://ginnystiles.blogspot.com
I think both are excellent tiles. So interesting to look at. I am now going to look up some of the tangles!!
ReplyDeleteI especially love the second one - the center figure reminds me of a bird.
