Another zentangle challenge from our lovely Diva, this time to do borders within borders within borders... that's the string. I love many of the tangles that go in lines so I was looking forward to this.
I started with one of my current favorite tangles, Paisley Boa. Then remembered a previous favorite, Fohbraid. I found that the real challenge with this challenge was going around the corners!

Tangles, out to in: Zedbra, Purslane, Paisley Boa, Fohbraid, Perfs, Knightspeak, Going Down |
I added Zedbra at the very end, deciding that I wanted the whole tile covered. That made me think of other tangles I've designed and I decided to do another using only my own tangles.

Tangles, out to in: Chebucto, Lamar, Seljuk, Many Moons, Copada, Black Pearlz (well, just one) |
Margaret, I'm relatively new to Zentangle and absolutely addicted! Your work continually stuns me with flare, drama, movement & spirit. These borders within borders are no exception. I've seen zentangle borders around photos or other forms of art, but I much prefer their use to frame a particularly magnetic tangle. Thank you for all the time you spend sharing your incredible talent with me! ~ Jan Brandt
ReplyDeleteHi Jan, and thanks. Wow! "...flare, drama, movement & spirit". I might just quote you sometime! :)
DeleteMargaret you have turned your corners with absolute style.

DeleteThese are delightful! I love Paisley Boa and how you intersperced it with Zedbra. Nice depth and dimension...just great!
ReplyDeleteboth of these are absolutely gorgeous. Your shading is amazing. It just ties the different rounds together in such an impressive way. I have to look up some of your tangles and learn them; they are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI love both tiles. You are so artistic. Paisley Boa looks lovely and you did a fantastic job of embellishing it.
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I love Chebucto and can't wait to try it out - I may have to ask about your trick for the corners if I can't figure it out on my own.
ReplyDeletewow! your tiles are just awesome!
ReplyDeleteWow Margret, beautiful. I love the chebucto tanlge in the second one. It is really well done. The first one with lots of flowerish elements is stunning too.

ReplyDeleteLove your tiles and I love your tangles Margaret.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful... thank you for noting what tangles you use; I'm so new I have no idea what they are and it's nice to try to find out how to do them...
ReplyDeleteSo appreciate the grace and movement of the lines.
