More eye candy!

As promised, here are close-ups of some of the ATCs I made for a swap among Certified Zentangle Teachers (CZTs). The original idea has morphed somewhat. We were to do 53 cards that could - in theory - be playing cards, to make a deck of cards. We're still making 53 cards (yikes!) but the idea, and the possible materials, opened up a lot. I still love paper and pen and pencil, and occasional gems!

This is the first half of the cards, numbers 1-24. Numbers 25-53 coming soon.

  2. You know, most of the time, I really dislike Zentangle with colors. Really do. Except yours! I've loved every single one I've seen so far!!! Amazing! :-)

    1. Thanks Anya! I think one of the reasons Rick and Maria decided to have Zentangle in black and white is that with color there is a lot more to think about and know beforehand. Often the color looks as if it's applied ON TO the black and white art rather than being an integral part of the design.

  3. I want to be you when I grow up. I love your stuff. I'm so bummed that there are only 3 CZTs in my area and none of them teach. Don't tell anyone, but you're my favorite. BTW I'm older than you!

    1. Hi Morgaine. I use a variety of things, mainly acrylic washes and colored inks. Occasionally water-soluable colored pencils. When it comes to the ink I have a variety of pens such as drawing tips and brush tips, and various brands. I aim for archival inks (light-fast, waterproof). Shading is done in colored pencil.
