Zenith challenge

Zenith is a fresh, new tangle from Zentangle. I first learned it at the CanTangle event in Regina SK in July, and this week it's the Diva's challenge to us.

I had just prepared a dozen tiles with color washes and decided to do my first Zenith on one of those.
Tangles: Beadlines, Black Pearlz, Crescent Moon,
Pixioze, Printemps, Zenith
Next, some variations on Zenith. I like the one with the Crescent Moon bead and Auras.
Tangles: Beadlines, Pixioze, Tipple, Zenith
Then I used Sue Clark's tri-shape string. What a terrific and easy way to divide a tile into sections! I think I drew this one with my eyes closed for a little less control of the outcome. Note that there's some minimal Zenith in the square too.
Tangles: Black Pearlz, Paradox, Pearlz, Wud, Zenith
I had to do another.
Tangles: Auraknot, Black Pearlz, Zenith,
and a really gussied up version of OoF
I'm working on a multi-tile project in color and it struck me that Zenith would be very suitable in one of the rings. I still don't like the orange Eye-wa and will do something about that... later.
Tangles: Eye-Wa, Paisley Boa, Pixioze, Well, Zenith

  1. You continue to amaze me, woman! The color wash one is so beautiful! I love the richness you achieve with extra black in many of your tiles, and these are no exception. Love the white ink on the center black section. In your last tile, I love how you substituted extra points instead of round bead-y shapes to really set off the outer edge of your Zenith ring. The blue next to the orange rocks, too!

  2. Great work. Like all the different looks you have achieved with Zenith. Maybe it is just me but I like the Eye-wa in the last one. I think it is a nice contrast to the lighter/brighter colors. I also like the color wash in the first one.

  10. I don't get how you can get so many tiles done. One tile for me takes way more then the fifteen minutes I was told. All of these tiles are a masterpiece! Bravo.

    1. I don't think anyone does a tile in 15 minutes, even though that was the original idea. But even at an hour it's still faster to complete than so many other projects!

  11. Hi Margaret. just loved your variations on Zenith and the coloured tile is awesome. You have always been a real inspiration to me, thank you. I hope you don't mind but I shared some of my work which copied your ideas in this blog as a technique for newbies to use. Its how I have learnt so much from you. The technical work isn't crash hot but thought I should let you know.
