The Tangle-a-Day calendar from Carole Ohl has been published for a few years now. This year Carole didn't have the time to do all the artwork for it so she invited me!!! All the illustrations in this year's edition are my work.
The book itself is 5"x8" and there are three days per page. The drawing space is a little smaller than a standard Zentangle tile.
Working in this calendar is new to me, and I'm going to try to keep up. I decided to begin with some of my own tangles. Here are my first three days showing Diamond Panes, Lotus Pods, and Künstler.
And the next three days with Dutch Hourglass, Prestwood, and Trifle.
You can still order one on Etsy if you want to join the fun. Most of the year is left!
I did Carole's calendars for two years and really loved doing them.
ReplyDeleteThen I branched off and starting doing another kind of zentangle calendar.
They books are frankly pretty expensive and the costs have gone up each year.
You can download free calendars online and then tangle them.
Not early as gorgeous as yours though.
Hi there. I just went to your Etsy shop and the calendar is sold out. More coming? Pamela Brooke
ReplyDeleteHi Pamela. It’s actually Carole’s Etsy shop and I’m not involved in distribution or sales. I’d suggest contacting Carole through the Etsy shop, or Dave Braughler at Braughler Books, the publisher. I’ll look into it too.
DeleteWow! what a gorgeous start to the new year;-)
ReplyDeleteThis the first year I've purchased Carole's calendar... primarily because you contributed to it Margaret. I too find them quite pricy when shipping to Canada is more than the cost of the book. I'm fortunate that I have a friend visiting the US right now and she will be bringing it home for me soon! I can hardly wait!!!😃
ReplyDeleteI know. Once you do the exchange and add the shipping the cost is almost double. Really unfortunate. (Here's to a global currency!)
DeleteI'm loving these calendars! Your art in this year's is gorgeously inspiring, Margaret. Regarding Ginny Stiles' comment above, yes there are free calendars online but you'd print them on your own computer paper which is not good for tangling upon. The paper in the Tangle*A*Day calendar is good quality and smooth, taking both Micron ink and graphite pencil very nicely. And as Maria says ... honor yourself and your art with high quality tools! Besides, even at $25, this calendar works out to less than $.07 a day. :)
ReplyDeleteOnce you do the exchange and add the shipping to Canada the cost is almost double. Really unfortunate, but still, not much per day.
Delete(Nonetheless, here's to a global currency!)
This is my first year of using the calendar and I'm enjoying the smoothness of the paper and the wonderful artwork by Margaret. Is there anywhere on the net where tanglers are sharing their work on the calendar? I'd love to see what other people are doing. For myself, I'm concentrating on tangles from Zentangle HQ, at least for the first month or so.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first year of using the calendar. Loving the smoothness of the paper. The shipping cost for me would have been high as I live in Australia. However, I draw nearly every day so the cost is not a factor in how much enjoyment I get from the process of drawing. Is there an online gallery somewhere where tanglers post their calendars? I would love to see what other people do with this lovely book.
ReplyDeleteHi! There is a Facebook group at this link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/372649146093844/
DeleteGlad you're enjoying the calendar!
