100 weekly zentangle challenges! That's a milestone alright. Congratulations Laura! In honor of the occasion Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts have released a new tangle and they're calling it Diva Dance.
I'm not particularly pleased with this first one, but I wanted to try Diva Dance in Shattuck and it's rather interesting. I also wanted to try another new tangle, Denyse Jones's Afreeka.

Tangles: Afreeka, Black Pearlz, Diva Dance, Shattuck, Tipple |
I like this one better. I didn't have the step-outs in front of me and couldn't remember how to start Diva Dance as a spiral, so above I used Black Pearlz. In the next one I intended to use a droplet shape with a highlight but there was too much white left so they became tai chi symbols. How cool is that?!?

Tangles: Black Pearlz, Camelia, Diva Dance, Tortuca, and stripes |
Brilliant, as usual.
ReplyDeleteVery cool!! Love your flow from tortuca! Love your dancing beat!
ReplyDeleteBoth ar great tiles. It is the second time I see Afreeka, and I like the way it turned out at your tile. Think I have to try it myself real soon. The second tile is really gorgeous, with the little accent of YinYang, in the middle of Rock 'n roll. So zen it is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI love them both, The balance between black and white is Perfect.
ReplyDeleteAnd the combination of tangles.....Beautiful!!!
I tried a little Diva Dance Fox Trot on my blog yesterday...
ReplyDeleteIt's an elegant tangle because it is so flexible and what needs to be mastered the the delicate lines.
I like the idea of the "re-mix" you did with Shattuck.
I had missed Afreeka so I'll go and find the steps for that one.
Have you seen Zach's yet? Take a look.
Incidentally when I went to look up the other tangle you used...I came upon a Pinterest site where TONS of patterns are posted. I went nuts. But then, probably no one would notice.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful beautiful dance!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love that second one, just stunning.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, I hope my tangles are as good as yours some day.
ReplyDeleteI love the Yin Yang in your Rock 'n Roll Diva Dance. And your stripes look so shiny and juicy I am tempted to nibble! :-)
