Tangles: Black Pearlz, Crescent Moon, Lamar, Tripoli, and 'bump' Striping |
Tangles: Beadlines, Black Pearlz, Künstler, 'bump' Striping |
In the end I was quite wimpy at putting other tangles in the bands and didn't try anything very fancy.
UPDATE: A second challenge this week was to think of names for this tangle/technique. Cheryl Rotnem suggested 'Roman' and I suggested 'Alanancy'. Maria combined the two into the new name Romanancy, which is how this 'bump striping' will be known from here on in. Read about it on the Diva's blog here.
I love both of theses tiles and your line work is so terrific.
ReplyDeleteWOW....I love your tiles!
ReplyDeleteSo creative.
Great shading makes it perfect 3D.
Both of these are so fun, love your "dancing" Black Pearlz in first version. They are curvalicious. Beautiful work as always!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Simple straight lines really show off the pattern don't they?
ReplyDeleteSpectacular! I love your interpretation of this challenge :)
ReplyDeleteDear Wimpy,
ReplyDeleteBut, as always, you have created such elegant examples of the "bump striping". And I think that in order for this to "work" well, the tangles used should indeed be fairly simple. Just as you did them. I love them and have saved them.
As everyone has been saying on the challenge this week...we HAVE to think of a name for this. It's more a technique than it is an actual pattern, however, which makes it interesting. I submitted the name "illusion" to the mix. It's what I have been calling it.
I love these tiles. Nice job with the challenge. Great imagination.
ReplyDeleteReally really beautiful....especially the second one!
ReplyDeleteWow these re great. It really is an illusion. the first one fool my mind nd eyes, and the second one is so cute with the eyes popping up on opof your tangles. Love them both.
ReplyDeleteI think the simpler the better in this case.
ReplyDeletethat way you see the effect better,I think...
there both beautifull!but the second one I like better.
how fabulous these turned out to be. love the movement you have created.
ReplyDeleteThe 3-D and the shading and the wonderful journey as the eyes seek out all there is to see!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE what you've done!
DeleteLove the fantastic texture you've achieved with these. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThey both are over the top beautiful!!! You have this technique mastered!
ReplyDeleteZippity do dah! Groovy, bumpy texture and pizzazz!
ReplyDeleteThey are both so striking. Your work is such a delight.
ReplyDeleteGreat tiles!! I love the illusion and movement you have captured!!
ReplyDeleteMichele, I always love your work. These tiles are absolutely stellar. Your drawing is so impeccable, and your vision amazing. Great job!
ReplyDeleteAnd again you did it your way! Both tiles are breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteBoth of these tiles are gorgeous, too good to choose a favourite.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the dimension you've achieved. I 'specially love the first one with the 'ridges' starting and stopping unexpectedly, yet you've given the endings/beginnings such fullness. Awesome.
