I knew I wanted to use Betweed around the edge. Then the 'Ixorus' star developed, and the Hollibaugh ribbons, and the dotty patterns in the 'star'.
Tangles: Betweed, Caviar, Hollibaugh, Tipple |
I think I became a bit over-confident with the second one. It seems just too simple (simplistic?). I think it looks a little too much like a coaster. I have plenty of tiles that I think would make terrific coasters, but that's partly because they don't look like coasters!
Tangles: Ixorus?, Sanibelle, Snookums and something resembling Shattuck sort of. |
Then I decided to add a true string, which divided the mandala template into some interesting sections.
Tangles: Caviar, Crescent Moon, Fescu, black Pearlz, Striping |
All in all, I think I like the first one best. That's unusual; I usually like the later tiles in these challenges.
Thanks Geneviève!
Awesome! I love the black on the outside of the first one!
ReplyDeleteAll very pretty and interesting, but I also like the first one best. It reminds me of the lace doilies my grandmother used to crochet, but modernized.
ReplyDeleteI love the totally different zendala's. They are gorgeous and I appreciate the way you tangled around the zendala
ReplyDeleteThese are AMAZING! So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt was an amazing Zentangle journey just looking at these amazing tiles. Love that you did a string on the last one. The first one is just STUNNING!
ReplyDeleteThey are all so stunning. The first is my favorite. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove what you did here! Very cool
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful! I do like the first the most because of the dark background.
ReplyDeleteAll three are magical in their own way, I really like the 1st one, it seems to be popping off the page and the last one is truly intriguing!
ReplyDeleteLove these, especially the first one
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful. But number three is talking to me most:) I love its playfulness.
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful, but I would vote for 1 & 3 as my favorites.
ReplyDeleteHey I agree with Carol.
ReplyDeleteSomehow the 3rd one speaks to me more too!
But I have to say they are all lovely.
I like them all but I think is pretty gutsy to put a string over a mandala like you did in the third one. I love the end result!
ReplyDeleteLove how you have added a background!
ReplyDeleteAll of the are lovely!
ReplyDeleteWow, you went all out! They're so different, and all beautiful. And I love the string idea in the last one.
ReplyDeleteThey are all great! This challenge was fun to experiment with, and the possiblities are endless.
ReplyDeleteOooooh! And actually, I like the simplicity of the second one. These are all fantastic, and you've given me an idea...
ReplyDeleteOh...wow, these are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWell, I would have a lot of trouble if I had to choose a favorite...they are all so unique!
ReplyDeleteAll are wonderful, but I agree with you Margaret, the first in my favorite.
ReplyDeleteAll are quite lovely but the first one just draws me into the zendala and beyond to the hollibaugh - really sets it off
