Three leftover boards from board game pieces. |
First I did a lot of circles. I traced the stencil two or three times so they would overlap.
Tangles: Black Pearlz, Crescent Moon, Kuke, Paushalöv, Tipple, Tripoli |
Next, a single grid of triangles.
Tangles: Black Pearlz, Chebucto, Coaster, Elven, Finery, Firecracker, Fohbraid, Jonqal, Knase, Lamar, Opus, Romanancy, Tipple, Unyun |
A mix of circles and squares, again overlapping.
Tangles: Black Pearlz, Cruffle, Flux, Sindoo, Tortuca?, Wud |
After that, some octagons, drawn twice so they overlap.
(I was enthused by the DivaCZT's Islamic geometric patterns!)
They wanted some color too.
They wanted some color too.
Tangles: Aura, Drupe, Fleurette, Knightsbridge |
I just remembered some other stencils I have. Uh-oh.
These tiles are great!
ReplyDeleteGreat Margaret, really GREAT!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteSo beautiful, I love them all.
ReplyDeleteAll of them are beautiful! Especially I like the shading and the variety of the tangles.
ReplyDeleteHow do you keep your circles so concentric, your spacing so perfect, your triangles so size-consistant...beautiful work. I love looking at your artwork
ReplyDeleteI'm not so great. The triangles are a stencil; you can see it on the left in the first photo.
DeleteAlthough I admit, I've always been good with fine motor skills. :)
Just don't ask me to paint something large with a big brush.
These are fabulous, Margaret! You are incredibly creative.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann!
DeleteКак замечательно получилось - очень эффектно!
ReplyDeleteEnglish translation of above:
DeleteHow wonderful it turned out - very impressive!
Thank you Melkota.
Oh, sorry, forgot about the translation - in such a hurry to express my admiration...
DeleteNo problem at all. It's great to get a comment in another language! :)
DeleteI love them all!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful and how innovative. Only a true artist/crafter would think of using throw away items to make art, lol.
ReplyDeleteCool, Cool, Cool. Your creative mind worked overtime here. Lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteOh man, these are FABULOUS! I LOVE your stencils and wish I'd kept my own board game templates. Although I love them ALL - I particularly like your grid of triangles and the way some things bleed into something else. Love the boldness and color in the last one, and your Sindoo with the shine in the third one.....
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue, I like how the triangles are still plain white, in contrast to the detail of the rest of the tile. I'm kind of on to Sindoo lately!
DeleteThese are awesome. What a great idea to use the punched boards of games. For now on, I'm going to save mine!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, keeping those game pieces! I will have to remember that one for the future! Great and beautiful tiles, all of them!
ReplyDeleteThese are super duper!! Love them all especially the last one :) great idea! wish I had kept our board games :)
ReplyDeleteWow Margaret these are stunning in both the complexity and simplicity. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteLike all of these but really like the triangle one. Like how the figure from the stencil was the white space in the tile and the tangles filled the rest of the areas.
ReplyDeleteThanks Don, I think the triangles are my favorite, too.
DeleteGorgeous! They're all amazingly beautiful and stunning. The last one reminds me of a kaleidoscope.
ReplyDeletewow! your work is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteJust one word WOW!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great en inspiring idea!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joke. "Necessity is the mother of invention." Is there a similar saying in Dutch?
DeleteMagical, Margaret your tangles on all tiles have connected and transformed with pizzazz!
ReplyDeleteThank you Shelly! I think drawing the stencil more than once, and overlapping the design, was the key. It forced me to bump the tangles into each other.
DeleteYou've made some fantastic tangles with these basic shaped stencils! Congrats :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteyour art is awesome! Love them all
ReplyDeleteThese are all amazing!! I am in awe of how many you have done - and how disciplined you are with all the shapes!! Wonderful!! And we would love to have you join our new challenge (Carolien and me) - http://www.dianeclancy.com/blog/diane-caroliens-weekly-zentangle-challenge
